Statement of Intent

MAGAZINE


The idea of my magazine is to create a clear cover page that will meet the briefs requirement and be relevant to my target audience, which will include two different models that will show a fashion element on the cover. One of the models will be wearing a dress to show a young teenage dream of going to prom, whilst the other model will be wearing causal clothing for an everyday teenager. Considering how the genre of the magazine has to be based upon fashion, using to different models at the age of 17 and from two different social groups, wearing two different types of fashion will expand the audience range from what they like to wear best. This will stand out to the target audience of 16-17 because of how the models are the same age as the target audience therefore, the audience will be able to be more relevant to the model. The core values of Bauer Media is “Our aim is to connect audiences with excellent content through our broad multi-touchpoint brand platforms.  Wherever, whenever and however they want”, my concept fits the Bauer Media core value because of how my magazine covers will be connected to my audience through the use of young models and the range of accessibilities that will be shown throughout the cover page and the content page. On my first front cover, I decided to have a black and white background to make the model stand out more and draw the audience’s attention to the model. Considering, how the model is shown with the sun glazing on her hair and a strong red colour on her dress, makes her stand at even more. The audience will be drawn to the middle of the cover where the model is, due to the bright colours used for the model, which is in the centre of the cover page.

In the website I’ve added an interaction section in my website to allow the audience to make an account in my website so that they have their own personal settings and allowing them to add what relates to them best, by doing this it’ll allow people to be more satisfied with the website, and makes them feel as if they are a part of an community. I’ve added two pages on the website, one which is the homepage, welcoming new and current users to the website. On the homepage I’ve included, a row of different pictures of models used for the ‘Glassey’ website and I’ve also included a section near to the bottom that allows the audience to look further into the Bauer Media side, by allowing them to select a ‘Learn More’ button that will take them directly to the main Bauer Media website. For the second page on the website, I’ve added a page that talks more about the models and introduces them to the audience, which talks about where they are from and why those models were picked for the ‘Glassey’ website and magazines.


Synergy is important to media industries because it helps consumers identify the brand logo and making the products more recognisable. I’ve remained with the grey and black on the website to show synergy between my website and magazine, to show a distinguish look to the audience. With the blue background on the website with floating particles, gives a warmer feel to the website, allowing the website to affect the audience more. There is also another synergy shown on the website by having social media linked to the footer in the website and always having those social media also being linked to the contents page.
