Analysis Of Magazines

From Vogue being one of the most popular magazines to this date, I believed that using Vogue has an example will benefit me creating my magazine. With the use of a black and white picture, shows the binary opposite from the model to the background, bringing out the model more so that it stands out in the magazine, giving the audience a clearer view on the model. In both magazine covers, the model stares straight on, allowing the feel that the model is looking at the consumer and therefore bringing the consumer in, making the consumer want to purchase the magazine.

I've used Elle as an example of what I would like my magazine to look like because they are also a
fashion magazine. From analysing them, I've picked up that they want the full attention of their audience to be on the model, and they have done this by allowing the model to be infront of the mastehad and that the colour of the masthead depends on what the model is wearing. For example, in the right magazine cover they've made the masthead the colour of red because of the lipstick the model is wearing, which emphasis's the models' lips. In the left magazine cover, the masthead goes on top of the models hair, however doesn't cover the models face which allows the model to stand out more too.

I also used Cosmopolitan because it is also a very popular fashion magazine aswell, which has similarties and differences to Elle, to have differentiation between the both. In their magazine they have also done the technique off having the model infront of the masthead to draw the audiences attention to the models.
